Also called Crêpe Day, la Chandeleur is a French holiday during which people traditionally eat crêpes and drink cidre to bring good luck in the coming year. There’s a lot of history to this day, but in short, it was a good way to use up the extra wheat ahead of the new harvest. And symbolically, crêpes have the same shape as the sun, so it was a reason to rejoice as the days started to get longer.

Celebrate this tradition with us! You will learn how to make French style pancakes and we will also have some fun answering trivia questions about France!
