​Mondays Starting Jan 16 6:00-8:00pm
In the survival level, you will continue to focus on the passé composé and imparfait tenses and their usage. Students will focus on narrating in the past, recounting life changing moments, expressing tastes, announcing good and bad news, describing problems and solutions, and expressing cause and consequence. Culture will be also an integral part of this course to enhance understanding and appreciation of the French speaking world. ​

Tuesdays Starting Jan 17 6:00-8:00pm
​Through a variety of activities that involve reading, writing, speaking and listening, students will discover basic French communication skills. They will be able to present themselves, hold a simple conversation in the present tense. Vocabulary themes include greetings, days of the week and month, family members, professions, classroom objects, personal identity, dining and activities in Nantes, France. Culture will be also an integral part of this course to enhance understanding and appreciation of the French speaking world. ​

Wednesdays Starting Jan 18 6:00-8:00pm​
​Through a variety of activities that involve reading, writing, speaking and listening, students will discover basic French communication skills. They will be able to present themselves, learn how to communicate in the past tense and describe past events. Vocabulary themes include outings, inviting others, studies and education. Culture will be also an integral part of this course to enhance understanding and appreciation of the French speaking world. ​

Saturdays Starting Jan 14 11:15am-1:15pm 
Through a variety of activities that involve reading, writing, speaking and listening, students will discover basic French communication skills. They will be able to present and describe themselves and others, building on present tense usage. Vocabulary themes include going out for events, dining at a restaurant, meals and food items, directions, clothing and shopping, and Parisian activities. Culture will be also an integral part of this course to enhance understanding and appreciation of the French speaking world. ​

Students will communicate using intermediate level verb tenses to develop more complicated and nuanced conversation and communication skills. Culture will be also an integral part of this course to enhance understanding and appreciation of the French speaking world. ​

Note that all classes are based on the "Common Reference Levels" defined by the "Common European Framework of Reference for Languages" (CEFR). 
Textbooks
The "Methode de Francais" book and the "Cahier d'Activites" exercise book can be purchased on Amazon.
The materials for all classes are available as eBooks for the convenience of our students -thanks to the publisher

The Face to Face classes take place in a classroom at the AFJ office (address at the bottom of the page).
The Virtual classes use ZOOM.
