Classes meet for 5, 6, 8 or 10 weeks, 1, 1.5 or 2 hours per week depending upon the schedule. Cost is $25.00/hour.
Total Cost for 5-week session 6 hours is $125 for new students.
Total Cost for 6-week session 6 hours is $150 for new students.
Total Cost for 8-week session 12 hours is $300 for new students.
Total Cost for 10-week session (20 hours) is $500 for new students - please choose "New Student" at Check Out.
Our returning AF de Jacksonville Students receive %10 off all classes - please choose "Returning Student" on Check Out.

Adult In-Person French Conversation Starts April 27! Saturdays Noon - 1:00 pm in person at the AF de Jacksonville. Class will run for 6 weeks (6 hours). This conversation class is open to all students. Students will have the opportunity to interact and converse in French. Students have the chance to develop conversation skills and practice oral comprehension in an immersive environment. |

In Person "Absolute Beginner" French A1 level 1 Starts April 27! Saturdays 9:30 - 11:30am. In person at the Alliance Française de Jacksonville. Class will run for 5 weeks (10 hours). Through a variety of activities that involve reading, writing, speaking and listening, students will discover basic French communication skills. They will be able to present themselves, hold a simple conversation in the present tense. Vocabulary themes include greetings, days of the week and month, family members, professions, classroom objects, personal identity, dining and activities in Nantes, France. Culture will be also an integral part of this course to enhance understanding and appreciation of the French speaking world. Intermediate Beginning French A2 level 2 Tuesdays 6:00-8:00pm starting April 16 in person at the Alliance Française de Jacksonville. In the survival level, you will continue to focus on the passé composé and imparfait tenses and their usage. Students will focus on narrating in the past, recounting life changing moments, expressing tastes, announcing good and bad news, describing problems and solutions, and expressing cause and consequence. Textbooks - Totem (Hachette)
The Totem series of textbooks, Totem 1, 2 and 3 "Méthode de Français" all serve as our classroom textbooks. Each is accompanied by a corresponding "Cahier d'Activites" exercise (homework) workbook for the student. Both the classroom textbook and the workbook can be purchased on Amazon or at MEPEducation.net
You will purchase both the appropriate level Totem textbook "Méthode de Français" (1, 2 or 3) and the accompanying workbook or "Cahier d'Activités" (1, 2 or 3). Our Absolute Beginners class uses Totem 1. In the first class, students usually complete the first Dossier, which includes lessons 0-4. The same textbook will serve the student for additional semesters, completing one Dossier in a 5 week class, or 2 Dossiers in a 10 week class.
After purchasing your Totem textbook, you will have access to the eBook version at https://www.hachettefle.com/numerique/ressources. Teachers can provide assistance to help you create and access your eHachette account and eBook.

Step 1: Activate your account : Hachette is the publisher of your Totem book and your access starts by creating a free account here: https://www.hachettefle.com/user
You must have an active account with HachetteFLE at the website above to proceed to the next step. You will also need the unique code printed on the inside front cover of your Totem textbook. Do not proceed to the next step until you have received your textbook.
Step 2 : Got to https://biblio.hachettefle.fr/ and log in with your HachetteFLE username and password (you will need this numerous times to access your materials as Hachette does not make it easy - you normally will log in 2 or 3 times to be able to access your online book)
Step 3 : Click on the button that says ADD A RESOURCE in English or AJOUTER UNE RESSOURCE in French You will then be prompted to type in the long Key Code that is found on the inside cover of your Totem book. Type this in EXACTLY as it is shown and validate your eBook. You will only do this once!
Step 4 : Now you should see your eBook listed the way I see mine below whenever you log in to https://biblio.hachettefle.fr/ The book you purchased with your unique Key Code is shown to the left. You can now choose to download the eBook to your device (PC MAC ANDROID or IPAD) ... or look at it online (En Ligne). If you choose the En Ligne version then you will be directed to another website where you will log in again with your username and password in order to be able to view your book via the internet. If you choose the download to device options then you should only ever have to do that once. You will have the ebook(s) on your device and only have to launch the app/program in order to access.
